In brief history:
We applied for a visa on 25.04 (biometrics) from Riga
I left my passport in my hands
I received a letter confirming the visa on 11.10 (the decision was made on 4.10)
Because of the illness of my husband's parents, I decided to fly to him for a month, and it was decided that if we got a visa, I would send the passport from England.
We contacted some transportation companies, they refused to take the passport. Royal Mail accepted the parcel, but at German customs my passport was detained for lack of declaration. It took six weeks for the letter to travel back.
Then I sent it by DHL, but customs again asked for a TLS Contact tax number, which I could not provide. The letter went back to me for another 2 weeks.
Anyway, I flew to Berlin, and as an exception, I had my visa pasted in 2 hours. I received my passport the same day.
I'm flying to England tomorrow, back home.
