What is the difference between a Tourist Visitor visa and a Private Visitor visa?
A Tourist Visitor visa allows you to travel to the UK in order to get acquainted with the sights and culture of the country.
– If an applicant has close or distant relatives / friends who live in the UK and he is planning to visit them, then a letter of invitation from relatives / friends is required.
– Relatives / friends may fully or partially sponsor the trip or just invite an applicant to stay at their home for the period of stay in the country. In case someone sponsors the trip, it is necessary to provide their financial documents, as well as documents confirming the ownership of the accommodation they provide.
– If an applicant is visiting relatives, then documents to prove the relationship are required.
Processing time
The processing time for a Visitor Visa is up to 6 weeks.
Priority Visa Service is temporarily not available for applicants applying from the Russian Federation. The process takes longer (from 3 months).
General requirements
Before applying for a Visitor visa, an applicant must check that he meets the basic Home Office requirements listed below.
To apply for a Visitor visa, you must:

How long can I stay in the UK on a Visitor visa?
A Visitor visa is issued for a period of 6 months (2 years, 5 and 10 years), during which an applicant can enter the UK multiple times, and then he must return to his country of residence before the visa expiry date.
An application for a Visitor visa must be submitted from the country of residence, for example, from the Russian Federation.
Financial Requirements
The Home Office does not have any specific requirements for the amount of money required to apply for a Visitor visa. However, the amount shown on the bank account must be realistic for the trip, including the cost of the return ticket.
The entire amount must be deposited into a bank account, since it can be problematic to prove cash savings.
Relatives or friends of an applicant may also fully or partially sponsor the trip. In this case, it is necessary to provide documents confirming the sponsors’ source and amount of income.
